1. The Music

That's the end of the visuals (bar a title card that confirms this is definitely going to be subtitled "A Star Wars Story"), but there's still some incredible music to be heard - we get a haunting overlay of the classic Star Wars theme and the Imperial March. A great appropriation of the common trailer trick of slowing down an iconic theme that twists it enough to not be irritating, it's a thrilling, imposing end to a thrilling, imposing teaser.

In fact, the music throughout the trailer is great, very Star Wars yet with a more action-y twist. And that quality's an important thing as (The Clone Wars aside, which nobody counts), this is the first Star Wars movie to not be scored John Williams; although what's here may not be totally representative of what Oscar-winner Alexandre Desplat is bringing to the franchise, the promise of at least one foot in the master's work is reassuring.

Roll on December (got a feeling we'll be saying that for many years to come).
