Okay, so the Empire was completely destroyed and scattered to the winds at the end of Return Of The Jedi right? Well, yes and no. It looks as if the galaxy-spanning dictatorship, while having completely lost its prime influence and command structure, still lives on in some form or another. Aside from the various images of Stormtroopers circling the internet (you'll see those later), shots of dilapidated and rusted Imperial vehicles have emerged, showing just how far the Empire's influence once was. The picture above is tantalising for many reasons. For starters, J.J. Abrams seems to have captured that 'lived-in' look that everyone always shouts about from the original trilogy extremely well. On top of this, the age that the ruined Imperial vehicle shows in its rust and fractures gives us a visual example of how much time has passed in the Star Wars world. It's very unlikely, however, that the Empire has been forgotten. Do any working Imperial vehicles still exist? Will someone be attempting to 'reboot', so to speak, the various assets of the crumbled Empire? There's certainly enough of the wrecks scattered around to make it possible.
