After 32 years, the Force has finally woken up. On the back of around 3 hours sleep and a lot of emotion, the overriding feeling is that they - Disney, Lucasfilm, J.J. Abrams and all the rest - have done it. They've brought Star Wars back. The Force Awakens may be the biggest, most-hyped movie in history (or at least since that other Star Wars film 16 years ago...), so in that regard it had an almost impossible task. Yet somehow, against all the odds (and you really should never tell anyone them), it's lived up to it. Is it a perfect movie? Not at all. Is it better than the originals? Nope. Is it everything it needed to be, and all fans could've really hoped for? Absolutely. Set 30 years after the events of Return Of The Jedi, The Force Awakens is the best Star Wars anything since that movie. Forget the special editions and the prequels, this is Star Wars. Bringing back the old heroes and introducing some new ones, it's unashamedly a movie that's first and foremost for the fans. It calls back, it looks forward, and it's an exhilarating ride that will make you laugh, cry, and lose yourself in that child-like wonder no other movie can invoke. It goes without saying, but SPOILERS ahead!
