3. He's Just The Guy Leading The First Order While Kylo Ren's Away
This list has to include the one option no fan hopes is true - that General Hux is just some minor figure who passes on orders to the forces of the First Order whilst the more interesting bad guys are busy with missions of their own. For a start, having the General be nothing more than a fill in for Kylo Ren would be a waste of Gleeson's talents. Secondly, it's just boring, and Star Wars should never be dull. In the screen shots of the General leaked so far, fans have seen Hux standing next to Captain Phasma, presumably issuing her with orders to hunt down Finn. If that's all there is to the General, J. J. Abrams will have missed many great storytelling opportunities for the character. No, let's hope there's more to the role than that and move on quickly to the next, much more interesting, possibility.
