It's safe to say that Rian Johnson delivered on an epic scale with Star Wars: The Last Jedi, serving up a dramatically enthralling sci-fi blockbuster that ranks among the very best entries into the franchise.
It's clear that Johnson himself is a huge fan of the franchise, as you'd most certainly expect from anyone directing one of these movies. To that end, the film is absolutely littered with Easter eggs, nods and references to not only other aspects of Star Wars lore, but also pop-culture as a whole.
These sneaky references and tips of the hat certainly bring even more added value to repeat viewings, as fans challenge themselves to pore over every last frame of the movie looking for the most cleverly obscure nods.

31. Gareth Edwards Cameo
By far the most blatant cameo appearance in The Last Jedi goes to Rogue One director Gareth Edwards, who appears on screen for about 10 seconds during the climactic Battle of Crait.
At one point, a Resistance soldier takes a taste of the ground and declares, "It's salt", and Edwards is incredibly visible to the left of the frame as a soldier watching him, with virtually no effort made to mask his appearance.
Granted, Edwards' face isn't remotely as well known as, say, J.J. Abrams', but still, if you are aware of what the filmmaker looks like, it's hilariously distracting.
