Star Wars: The Last Jedi - 8 Crazy Fan Theories You Need To See

8. Snoke Is The Last Jedi

Besides Rey's parentage, the true identity of Supreme Leader Snoke (if he's not who he says he is) was the biggest question posed by The Force Awakens, and one that The Last Jedi will hopefully answer.

And one theory, posed by Reddit user AnakinKardashian, claims to know the truth; Supreme Leader Snoke will be revealed as the last Jedi that the title references.

The theory cites Disney and LucasFilm's sudden obsession with Jedi history (Jedha in Rogue One, the Jedi Temple in Episode 7, a recent novel wherein Palpatine sends someone to Jakku to uncover an ancient secret), combined with Snoke's apparent old age, as evidence.

This all points to Snoke being the last surviving member of the ancient Jedi order, a group that were active long before Obi-Wan, Mace Windu, and anyone else that forms our traditional perception of the word "Jedi".

In short, the ancient order was comprised of Jedi, in their original form.

That all sounds fine on the surface (besides the fact that foreign translations of the title revealed "Jedi" is being used as a plural, not a singular), but perhaps "Snoke: The Early Years" wouldn't be the most exciting direction Episode 8 could head in.
