5. Who Was Rey's Grandmother?

If we accept that Palpatine is Rey's grandfather, then it begs one major question - who the hell was Palpatine shacking up with in order to produce a son who would then eventually father Rey?

Timeline-wise, Palpatine would've probably had to have his son around or after the events of Episode III, which seems wildly convoluted given that we've never even heard of this woman, to say nothing of Palpatine's wrecked face making him a most ineligible bachelor.

Hell, it's possible Palpatine created his son by using midichlorians to manipulate a random woman's womb, just as he did to create Anakin (as confirmed by the recent canon comic Darth Vader #25). Stranger things have most certainly happened in the world of Star Wars, right?
