Jason Statham has signed on to play the lead role in Baker Street, a movie based on the real life story of the biggest bank robbery in British history. The movie will tell the true tale of the legendary heist which took place in 1971 and has never before been told because of a gagging order that the Government placed on the events for over thirty years. The film promises to tell exactly how it went down and how they got away with it as strangely enough.... no arrests have ever been made or money recovered from the robbery. Production Weekly reports that Roger Donaldson (The World's Fastest Indian, Species) will helm the flick which will begin shooting some time next year. This sounds really great. I've only heard little bits of info on this robbery but I can't imagine how the robbers got away without being arrested.
