SUCKER PUNCH Soundtrack Features Covers Of The Beatles, The Smiths, The Pixies & More!

By Matt Holmes /

Whether or not Sucker Punch turns out to be a watchable movie - and certainly myself and Simon have expressed & debated our doubts about that issue to some length this week - there's a good chance it will at least have a pleasurable soundtrack. Just like Zack Snyder's meticulously hand-chosen track list for Watchmen included an eclectic taste of iconic tracks from all kind of music era's and genres, Snyder has once again choose a wide selection of recognisable tunes for his latest action fantasy, many of which are covers sung by the cast themselves. Lead Emily Browning seems to be the busiest as she has renditions of The Eurythmics' 'Sweet Dreams', The Smiths' 'Asleep' and 'Where Is My Mind?' by the Pixies, though cast members Carla Gugino and Oscar Isaac also cover Roxy Music's 'Love is the Drug'. Some of the songs I've sampled from youtube below, obviously the cover tracks haven't been made available yet. The soundtrack is released March 28th. The film opens in the U.S. (March 25th) and in the U.K. (April 1st). 1. Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This)€”Emily Browning 2. Army Of Me (Sucker Punch Remix)€”Björk featuring Skunk Anansie 3.
