Suicide Squad: 10 Actors Who Could Replace Tom Hardy

Now is not the time for fear, Warner Bros...that comes later.

The Suicide Squad lost their first member in the wee hours of this morning (or €œdaytime€ as those sick perverts in Hollywood call it). According to reports, Tom Hardy has dropped out of DC's next big comic book adaptation after Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice, a somewhat left-of-centre choice of the supervillain covert ops team whose name is to be taken literally €“ as in, they're almost always sent on suicide missions. A high turnover of characters is par for the course in the comics; losing such a big name, from a cast full of big names €“ Hardy would have starred alongside Will Smith, Margot Robbie and Jared Leto €“ is more unprecedented. Now Warner Bros have the unenviable task of finding a suitable star to replace him. Apparently it's all down to scheduling and the like, meaning Hardy literally couldn't be around for shooting, but he's at the point in his career where he can carry a film all on his own (as is the case with the upcoming Mad Max sequel-reboot thing). So the new star has to be around Hardy's level, but not quite a breakout who will hog the limelight. So who exactly is the right fit for Rick Flag, the slightly unstable all-American hero who despises being teamed with a bunch of supervillains? Here are a handful of thespians who might just be able to fill Hardy's shoes (if not manage quite as many colourful accents). Here are ten actors who could replace Tom Hardy in Suicide Squad.
