13. Mickey: The Story Of A Mouse

A Disney-produced Mickey Mouse documentary may suggest nothing more than yet another brand-reinforcing puff-piece, yet while lacking a truly critical perspective this is at least a well-researched and informative doc.

Chronicling Mickey's near-100 year history from his origins onwards, The Story of a Mouse is sure to be of considerable interest to Disney fans, even if such a proximate in-house project effectively circumscribes the more questionable aspects of the company's history and of Walt Disney himself.

That's not to say the film is entirely squeaky clean, though certainly cherry-picks the aspects of Disney's past it's willing to discuss, which given current events might rub some viewers the wrong way.

Nevertheless, as a tribute to its beloved title character The Story Of A Mouse is still an easy recommendation.

Mickey: The Story of a Mouse is set to release on Disney+ later this year.
