Ensemble comedy Tag continues its international roll-out this weekend, and while it doesn't quite measure up to 2018's best comedies so far - namely Game Night and Blockers - it is nevertheless a damn fun time if you want some temporary refuge from the blistering summer sun.

Boosted by its game cast, entertaining script and nifty direction, Tag mostly makes good on its wonderful premise - based on a real-life game of tag between friends, no less - even if it doesn't quite fully deliver on its insane potential.

There are undeniably issues, and a certain scene in particular is sure to become infamous among viewers, but if you're in the mood for an undemanding 100 minutes of silliness featuring a cavalcade of likeable actors letting loose, Tag's probably the movie for you.

And if you missed Jeremy Renner's presence in Avengers: Infinity War, this movie will definitely help tide you over until he finally resurfaces in Avengers 4 next summer...
