An exclusive story reported by Deadline reads that Malsany, the star of Space/BBC America's Orphan Black and and HBO's Perry Mason, will portray the titular character under director Kat Coiro (It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, The Mick, Florida Girls) and head writer Jessica Gao (Rick and Morty, Take My Wife).

In the comics, She-Hulk is Jennifer Walters, an attorney and cousin of Bruce Banner (The Hulk). A blood transfusion from Banner gives Walters similar powers, but unlike her male counterpart she is able to keep her intelligence and personality while "Hulked out".

The project is one of several live-action MCU streaming series developed by Disney+, including The Falcon and Winter Soldier, WandaVision and Loki, which are all currently in-production and tentatively set for release sometime next year. Deadline did not specify when She-Hulk is set to begin production, nor if other major parts have been cast.

Canadian-born Malsany first rose to prominence for her starring role in the science-fiction series Orphan Black, earning widespread acclaim for her portrayal of several different clones with wildly different lives and personalities. She won an Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series, and five Canadian Screen Awards for Best Performance by an Actress in a Continuing Leading Dramatic Role. She was also nominated for a Golden Globe Award for Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series - Drama. She currently stars in HBO's Perry Mason.
