It seems almost every classic horror film has been remade for the 21st Century market, the tension and suggested threat of classic horror apparently doesnt cut it today. What Hollywood likes to do is take an existing story, ramp up the slashing and throw some extra blood and gore at you. OK, the sequels werent great but the original 1973 film still gives enough scares and tension to out-shock most of todays horror offerings. Wisely, proposed remakes of William Friedkins seminal film havent got off the ground, the wrath of millions of horror fans being worse than anything Satan could throw at dumb Hollywood producers. But, hey, imagine Abigail Breslin doing that head spinning thing... No! No! No! No! No!
