2. Who Is Matt Smiths Character?
The role of Matt Smiths character was pretty much the only thing about the film that wasn't given away before its release. With so much mystery, wed surely get a definitive answer during this movie, right? Well, sort of.
He plays a freedom fighter alongside John Connor and Kyle Reese, but then when Reese is about to go back to 1984 he comes out of nowhere faster than a Randy Orton RKO to capture Connor, turning him into a T-3000 and causing all sorts of ruptures in timelines and general mayhem for the past, present and future.
He serves as the physical embodiment of Skynet, a T-5000, but it isnt made totally clear how this works, and his appearance in the post-credits sting leaves it up in the air as to his future. Theres also the question of where he came from to be a part of Johns resistance in 2029, and what timelines he is or isnt a part of. Good job Smith has experience in all of this timey-wimey stuff.
