10. He's Back

Arnold Schwarzenegger’s return to acting has been met with a lot less fanfare than expected. He’s turned in some solid performances in The Last Stand and Maggie, but he hasn’t really had a bonafide hit since his comeback from politics. To rectify that void, Schwarzenegger is back in the role that made him famous.

Other than simply getting fans excited, his return adds a certain legitimacy to this film that the previous one lacked. Furthermore, his involvement allows for all of the mind-bending time travel stories this film looks to have planned, which never could have worked without his older self in the picture.

On that note, what’s most interesting about his return is that the real life actor is influencing the character. With Arnold being much older, so too is the Terminator now a grizzled, aged version of the thing we knew from its prime. It’s making the character fresh while still keeping him familiar at the same time, which could be rather symbolic of the film.
