Terminator Genisys: 18 Stupidest Moments In 2015's Dumbest Movie
11. The Ridiculous Technological Escalation
Genisys as a front for Skynet is a pretty smart set-up (despite the actual details of what the system is - hold tight for more on that), but there are some seriously odd developments in their business strategy.
When it is revealed that John Connor is working as part of their team (nobody at all cares where he came from, as long as he's great at coding, apparently), there's a look within Cyberdyne's base that shows off their other ventures.
It was one thing for them to set up their networking app with links to the military (like Twitter looking after Trident or something ludicrous) but for them to then just add that they're also working on robots and time travel is just stupid. The whole thing just smells like desperation, as if right at the end the writers didn't think Cyberdyne were enough of a corporate villain and suddenly turned them into a careless pantomime Bond villain organisation to account for it.
