Rather than the rag-tag bunch of human stragglers fans might associate with an imagined Terminator future, Connor's men appear to be wearing typical US military outfits, augmented with some serious (though presumably not all that useful) body armour. Notice Connor's face is heavily scarred - presumably from a close run-in with one of his mecha-foes.
