This one is completely absurd and far too outrageous. How many people complaining actually watched Twilight? Is it because both actors are pretty? Do people think Peter is going to bite Gwen and inject his spider venom into her as she dies from childbirth, turning her into Spider-Woman? The only explanation I've seen for this comparison is that there were too many romance scenes in The Amazing Spider-Man. Wait, what? This movie has the same amount of romance as any other superhero movie and it's even downplayed to focus solely on Peter's emergence as Spider-Man. There was also a pleasant lack of Gwen being thrown off every building in New York City as she screams her lungs out for help - I'm surprised Kirsten Dunst can still speak. Are people afraid of a little romance that falls a little closer to home? What this complaint comes down to is the negative effect Twilight has had on our society today. The only similarities I see is Peter revealing he's Spider-Man to her, but even that's stretching it. For the record, Gwen is actually useful, she is not completely enamored and controlled by Peter, and he sure as hell didn't sparkle.
