9. Jeffrey Wright Will Play James Gordon

Heavily reported but still unconfirmed by Warner Bros. at the time of writing, it appears as though Jeffrey Wright is nailed on to play Commissioner James Gordon in The Batman.

Wright previously portrayed CIA agent Felix Leiter in Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace, and is perhaps most recognisable as Bernard Lowe in HBO's Westworld.

According to reports, Wright beat none other than Mahershala Ali to the role, after the actor committed his comic book movie future to Marvel by fronting an upcoming reboot of Blade. Both would've been great in the role, but it'll be interesting to see what Wright brings to the table all the same.
