7. Robert Pattinson Is A Fantastic Batman

Certain ignorant quarters of the Internet cried foul when Robert Pattinson was first cast as Batman, because of course comic book fans have learned nothing no matter how many times a whined-about superhero casting choice has ended up working out perfectly.

If Pattinson's terrific performance in this film can't shake off the stink of Twilight once and for all, truly nothing can.

Pattinson spends the overwhelming majority of the three hours in the Batsuit and delivers a more subdued, internalised Batman than we've ever seen before on the big screen.

Brooding and moody, with occasional explosions into exasperated rage, Pattinson's Caped Crusader is sure to become many fans' favourite interpretation of the character to date, and even if not, he acquits himself extremely well as both Bats and Bruce (but especially the former).

Above all else, it's clear that Pattinson has what it takes to carry the mantle for at least a trilogy of movies.
