The Batman Solo Movie: Everything You Need To Know
8. Director And Crew
Ben Affleck was initially announced as the director of The Batman during the Warner Bros. panel at SDCC 2016, to much enthusiasm.
But following that, a series of statements, reports and rumours indicated that all was not well behind the scenes.
These eventually culminated with Affleck officially vacating the directors chair, leading to names like Denis Villeneuve, Matt Ross and George Miller being thrown around as potential replacements.
But finally, in late February, Warner Bros. signed Matt Reeves (Let Me In, Cloverfield, Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes) to direct. Reeves will also produce the film alongside Affleck and DC's Chief Creative Officer, Geoff Johns.
In terms of other talent (composer, cinematographer), no announcements have been made. Affleck and Johns have written the script, with Batman v Superman scribe Chris Terrio also lending his pen in the form of a rewrite.
