The BBC has seen QUANTUM OF SOLACE

By Matt Holmes /

First major press screenings (i.e... we weren't invited) were held last night for QUANTUM OF SOLACE in London and from reading the hastily written review from BBC's Lizo Mzimba, he seemed desperate to tell the world he saw the film before anyone else could, rather than taking the time to write a Pulitzer Prize Winning Review. Which is fine and in any event, you would be crazy to want to read a whole review this close to the movie's release date. Though Mzimba did recall a nice paragraph which is spoiler free and gives a great indication of what we can expect from the film to AICN, which you can read after the image...

It's a film that feels like the second part of a trilogy, with this being the bleaker second act. For a lot of the movie Bond is a particularly unsympathetic character, and often it's only Craig's performance along with the shifting morality of Bond's legion of enemies that forces the audience to root for him. Olga Kurylenko, who plays a refreshingly different kind of female companion, does well with a part that has far more depth than most Bond girls.
If you are a soundtrack buff, you can now download the whole David Arnold score from iTunes UK, a good while before the official soundtrack release on Oct. 28th. There's also a new t.v. spot...

A full media blitz for the film will begin next week with Daniel Craig and the likes making Press Rounds... the highlight probably being Craig's appearance on Friday Night With Jonathan Ross next week with former Bond girl Grace Jones!
