The Best Part Of The 10 Worst MCU Movies

10. Proving Himself Worthy - Thor

By no means is Thor a bad movie. There aren’t ten bad movies in the MCU, but the overall standard is so high that a decent if unspectacular one can fall into the realms of the bottom ten. There was still a lot to like about the God of Thunder’s debut.

The performances of Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston, and Anthony Hopkins are all fantastic, and the Shakespearian feel to the whole thing is something that hasn’t really been captured in the franchise since. However, nothing beats a good old redemption story.

When Thor was first introduced to the MCU masses, he was a naïve and volatile youth, that courted war and boasted an ego to match even that of Tony Stark. It was no easy feat, but he was soon put in his place by Odin.

He became unworthy, unable to lift Mjolnir or return to Asgard. When the character was stripped back like this, it allowed for him a huge amount of development that put him on the path to becoming the world-saving Avenger he ultimately became. Standing up to Loki’s Destroyer without armour nor weapon was a gutsy move, and one that ultimately proved that he was in fact worthy of his mighty hammer, and the title of a hero.
