The Dark Knight Rises: 10 Ways It Didn’t Live Up To The Hype

7. Catwoman

If you€™re Batman savvy at all outside of Nolan€™s world; if you've read any comics, saw any cartoons or played Arkham City, you€™ll be well aware of how badass Catwoman actually is. Anne Hathaway was great in her performance, sure, but her character was about one tenth as good as it should have been. Apart from stealing Bruce Wayne€™s dead mother's pearls (something he should have been way more pissed off about), doing a couple of nifty flips and riding around with her arse in the air on the Batpod, I€™m struggling to recall much that she did or said that was of any real interest. In nearly 3 hours of movie. Ok so she finished off Bane true enough, but it wasn€™t in any sort of poetic or interesting way and let€™s be honest, it should have been Batman that delivered the final blow. She just€blew him up. I felt like she just shouldn€™t have been there; this was a story about Batman vs. Bane and I can€™t help but feel that Catwoman an almost completely unnecessary addition to the buttock-numbing 165 minutes. For all the hype surrounding Catwoman, for how excited I was to see how she toyed with the Batman, I was disappointed that she seemed to have been included simply for the hell of it.
