The Dark Knight Rises Reviews
The Wrap, although yet to publish their full review, does have something to say about the final Dark Knight chapter and its not all glowing; The two-hour-and-44-minute film has flaws, and it misses the sense of crazy fun that Heath Ledger's Joker brought to Nolan's second film, "The Dark Knight." But it feels like a grand finale, and grand is an appropriate word. Canadas own Toronto Sun newspaper however is in much deeper adulation of TDKR, calling it and the whole franchise in fact as the best of its kind, and goes onto insist that regardless of the number of installments, no other comic book franchise can boast being this great, so consistently, and for so long. Movie City News is much more direct in its praise of The Dark Knight Rises insisting that the best of the Nolan Batman films. It of course goes into why by posing that you would not be unfair to argue that The Dark Knight is somewhat superfluous after this film, in which Nolan finally clears out the pesky comic book movie from his consideration of power and capitalism and the danger of losing contact with your core beliefs, on whatever side of the argument you live.
