That's what is emblazoned across the top of the portal that Jake uses to jump between Earth and Mid-World, and it also happens to be the number of an evil f***ing room.

Based on King's short story of the same name, 1408 stars John Cusack and Samuel L. Jackson, with the former playing a cynical writer who gets caught up in supernatural chaos at a haunted hotel room.
