The Fountain has been in production for the best part of this decade and it finally gets a U.S. release this weekend. The film stars Hugh Jackman and Rachel Weisz (in roles that were originally to be Brad Pitt and Cate Blanchett) and is directed by Weiz's hubbie Darren Aronosfky who brought us the mind bending Requiem for a Dream. The film is transports us through 1,000 years of history as Jackman searches a cure for the love of his life, Weisz. Here are the critics reviews... I think that last comment there from Steve Tilley is really relevant, it really does scream of the type of movie you will either love or hate. It reminds me of Donnie Darko in that sense.
