The Inbetweeners movie officially starts its six weeks of filming this weekend, although some scenes were shot last year. The premise finds teenage friends Will (Simon Bird), Simon (Joe Thomas), Jay (James Buckley) and Neil (Blake Harrison) going on holiday to Malia without their parents, with predictably ribald and embarrassing results. Series regulars Emily Head (Carly), Belinda Stewart-Wilson (Will's Mum) and Greg Davies (Mr Gilbert) are all set to appear, joined by new characters played by Lydia Rose Bewley, Jessica Knappett, Laura Haddock and Tamla Kari. I'm guessing those newcomers will be playing various love interests for the sex-mad foursome. The Inbetweeners movie (written by creators Damon Beesley and Iain Morris, directed by Ben Palmer) is set to open across the UK on 19 August. What's your gut feeling about this movie? Will it only appeal to fans of the TV show? Are there enough fans to make this a box-office hit in the UK? Does it even deserve to be a movie? Will it find an audience overseas? Are we in for a Kevin & Perry Go Large sized debacle, or will this live up to the BAFTA-winning TV show's standard?
