The Marvel President Accidentally Revealed A Major Secret

Kevin Feige let slip the Guardians Of The Galaxy 2 title.

There's a new Marvel movie on the horizon (Ant-Man, in cinemas worldwide July 17th) and you know what that means - press junkets where interviewers try and coax out information on the massive slate of upcoming movies. Normally these snippets are carefully constructed to give little away (Doctor Strange is going to be mystical; Captain America and Iron Man are going to fall out for a bit of Civil War), but every now and then they can actually yield something interesting. During an interview with Collider, Kevin Feige, the typically coy head of Marvel Studios, let slip the title for the highly anticipated Guardians Of The Galaxy. The internet went crazy and directorJames Gunn eventually came out and confirmed that the film is called Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2. Given the movie doesn't come out until 2017 (and won't start shooting for over six months), you can bet the studio wasn't ready to have the story break just yet, although they could do the worse marketing campaign imaginable (yes, even worse than Terminator Genisys') and people would still flock to see the film. As for the title itself? It's pretty cool. A simple nod to the chart-topping Awesome Mix, it's silly and grounded, just like the first film. Although, reference aside, there's no real difference to simply calling it Part 2. Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2 is out on 28th April, 2017 in the UK and 5th May, 2017 in the US. Can't wait that long? Don't worry - there's three MCU movies between now and then.
