2. Ruby Rose's Atrocious Performance
Ruby Rose appears in the film as Jaxx Herd, a wise-cracking marine scientist who is basically your typical sassy techie character without much deviation.
From her recent roles in the Resident Evil, xXx and John Wick franchises, it's clear that Hollywood's aggressively attempting to make her a thing, even though her risible performance in The Meg is more of a distraction than a net benefit.
From her hilariously unconvincing fake-crying to her read-off-a-cue-card line readings, her acting is by far the worst in the movie, and considering how substantial her role is, she drags things down almost every time she's on screen.
In an otherwise solid ensemble, she's basically dead weight and could've been easily written out of the movie without changing much at all.
