3. Mandy Walker's Gorgeous Cinematography

Say what you will about the film's script, but this is one impressive-looking production for sure, largely thanks to Mandy Walker's beautifully scenic cinematography.

Walker, who helmed 2008's hollow-but-gorgeous Baz Luhrmann disaster Australia, is no stranger to making the most of sweeping vistas, and does a fantastic job here evoking the chilly, beautiful bleakness of Utah's High Uintas Wilderness.

Hany Abu-Assad ably exploits the story's setting even if the screenplay is sorely lacking, and if people come away from the film moved or excited, it's as much due to Walker as it is the actors or director.
