4. Sofia Boutella's Intense Performance

Say what you will about the movie's treatment of its titular antagonist, specifically that she takes ages to show up and spends a giant chunk of the movie then chained up, but Sofia Boutella gives another impressively chameleonic performance as the scary-sexy Princess Ahmanet.

Despite her tiny frame, Boutella has considerable screen presence throughout, making the most of the intriguingly gender-swapped Mummy even though the script ultimately doesn't ask her to do all that much.

Like Cruise, she clearly deserved a much better movie, but at least escapes with her dignity in tact and certainly gets an A for effort.
