As the calendar creeps quickly towards Christmas Day on the 25th of December, we€™re counting down the days with a special advent calendar of festive films, revealing a set of rare images for each chosen film to surprise and delight film fans. To celebrate the cinematic re-release of Brian Henson's brilliant take on Charles Dickens' supernatural festive tale, today's advent calendar slot goes to a firm Christmas favourite - The Muppet Christmas Carol. Made before the wheels came off the Muppets wagon after Muppets In Space, the 1992 adaptation of the famous story of redemption remains the finest of all the Muppets' big-screen appearances, including the recent re-launch movie with Jason Segel and Amy Adams thanks to the usual blend of colourful characters and engaging humour. It could probably have had a lot more Beaker and Pepe, but the film remains an absolute Christmas classic, so here are our 10 unseen images to celebrate it...

10. Behind The Magic

A childhood-injuring shot of Michael Caine alongside Miss Piggy and Kermit The Frog as the Cratchett's, as well as their puppeteers. This shot is almost certainly a promotional shot, posed for the purposes, since Frank Oz isn't controlling Miss Piggy and usual Kermit handler Steve Whitmire appears not to be concentrating on the job at hand.
