6. The Setup Looks Goofy As Hell
Right out of the gate, the trailer strikes a bit of an uneasy note by showing that the Predator arriving on Earth is caused by a young boy (Jacob Tremblay) receiving a piece of Predator technology, after which he accidentally activates a beacon of some kind which sends the Predator ship crash-landing to Earth.
Though Shane Black has a pretty solid track record working with kids in his recent movies - Iron Man 3 and The Nice Guys in particular - this feels like such a silly set-up for a Predator movie. A kid causes a potentially global catastrophe because some rando mailed him an alien weapon? Meh.
Perhaps it'll play better in the final movie, but having almost half the teaser devoted to this absurdity isn't a good look. It probably makes more sense to downplay it if anything.
