3. Hybrid Predators...But Why?

Munn's character Casey Bracket reveals that the Predators are attempting hybridisation, telling Holbrook's Quinn, "They're upgrading on every planet they visit."

Why, though? This feels like such a lazy, unimaginative route for the Predator franchise to go, following the rather uninspired lead of Jurassic World, which decided that "normal" monsters weren't good enough anymore.

Most Predator fans would likely be perfectly happy with regular Predators for the entire movie, but clearly, we're going to be dealing with at least one enhanced iteration, which has the potential to go horribly wrong. Sci-fi fans still haven't forgotten about Alien: Resurrection's embarrassing hybrid, after all.
