The Rock's Black Adam To Debut In Suicide Squad 2?
So that's it, huh? Some sort of Dwayne Johnson?
Earlier this year, Dwayne Johnson teased "a really cool surprise for Black Adam that [he] can’t reveal, in terms of where we will see Black Adam being introduced." Now we know just what that may be.
According to a report from The Wrap's Umberto Gonzalez, the early plans for Suicide Squad 2 involve the team being sent to track down a weapon of mass destruction. The WMD in question? None other than The Rock's Black Adam.
The actor is as ridiculously busy as ever, but the report states that the part wouldn't take long to shoot - indicating he wouldn't be a huge part of the movie himself. It'd no doubt give the sequel a boost after the first was critically mauled, and be an easy way of introducing the character.
Johnson signed on to play Black Adam way back in 2014, with the original plan for him to appear in the Shazam movie. Plans have constantly been in flux since then though, in keeping with the rest of Warner Bros' DC slate, with rumours of him appearing in the Man of Steel sequel and Justice League previously doing the rounds this year.
Whether or not this one has any more meat to it remains to be seen, with the movie not scheduled to enter production until October 2018, but sooner rather than later Warners are going to have to confirm what they're doing with one of their most tantalising projects (The Rock playing Black Adam that is, not Suicide Squad 2).
