At the same time, it's important that the new movie doesn't get too goofy. This is one easy complaint to level at Raimi's movies, which haven't exactly aged particularly well because they already look so silly and ludicrous. Keep the film funny, but don't make it too earnest, perhaps employing some of the sarcastic humour Peter became known for in the Amazing Spider-Man movies, and never, ever have Spider-Man dress up as a firefighter to save the day... Again, the MCU pretty much manages a perfect balance between seriousness when the time calls for it and a little silliness: now that Spidey's part of the MCU, hopefully he'll follow suit.
