3. Starro Crushes Polka Dot Man To Death

Oh, Polka Dot Man. We so thoroughly wanted you to survive to the end of the movie, but alas, it wasn't meant to be.

When Starro breaks free from Jotunheim and starts rampaging around Corto Maltese, the Squad is forced to combine their abilities to try and stop the creature.

This is Polka Dot Man's moment - he envisions Starro as a giant kaiju version of his mother and unleashes a blast of his polka dots, which eat away at "her" legs, wounding Starro.

Polka Dot Man gets a moment to celebrate his heroism, shouting, "I'm a superhero!," before Starro promptly crushes him to death. It's a genuinely heartbreaking moment for a clear fan favourite character we could all root for. But also, like, totally hilarious.
