Without giving anything away, Sorkin finds a way to conclude his film on a spectacular high that's both enormously crowd-pleasing and extremely thoughtful.

The film's rousing courtroom climax pays off an element setup earlier in the movie with sledgehammer force, sure to earn initial laughs from viewers before the gravity of the moment sets in.

As a testament to the cost of war and the audacity of the government, it's an ending sure to get people talking and feeling compelled to, above all else, get out there and vote.

Like all good crowd-pleasers, it'll leave you feeling a little light on your feet, though also begs you to remember those who lives were meaninglessly lost in Vietnam, and those who continue to be victimised by the U.S. government.
