The Worst Thing About Every MCU Film
23. The Final Battle - Iron Man
As a movie, Iron Man had the hardest job since it had to launch a cinematic universe. If it didn't win over the critics or the box office, the MCU could've ended then and there. Thankfully, it was a spectacular opening to a franchise, mainly because of flawless casting of Robert Downey Jr. as the titular tin man.
But because of its legacy as the MCU's stepping stone, Iron Man is often misremembered as a visionary masterpiece. As entertaining as the film is, the climax is just two CGI robots bashing each other in pitch black. The brawl is so dark and generic, if feels like a poor-man's Transformers.
Marvel may be known for its quippy banter but this finale has the villain churning out direlogue like "Nothing will stand in my way!" and "Consider that collateral damage". If you watched this forgettable scene out of context, you would be baffled to learn it was this conclusion of the tentpole film of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
