With Thors return to Asgard at the close of the first film, The Dark World could see him defending both Earth and Asgard; conflicts which could bring him closer to both Natalie Portmans Jane Foster and Jaimie Alexanders Shield-Maiden of Asgard, Sif. This could provide an extra human dimension to the characters in what looks to be a war-heavy sequel.
