22. Jack Kirby

Sakaar might as well be one big homage to Jack Kirby. The zany colour scheme is pure Kirby, and the complex shapes could have been ripped directly from his panels. In fact, the Grandmaster's viewing room above the battle arena seems to have artwork on the wall taken from "Fantastic Four" #64 (July 1967).

That design is taken from the cover of the Sentry Sinister issue...

There is also apparently a street on Sakaar named "Kirby Way" in further homage to the artist.
