11. It's The Best Thor Movie

Several critics mention the fact that Ragnarok is the best Thor film in the MCU so far, which is exactly what a sequel should be aiming for.

Now, admittedly The Dark World didn't offer much competition. It was a wayward mess that missed the right tone and fatally misused its villains, and it wouldn't have been all that surprising if it had led to the end of stand-alone Thor movies. But the first Thor movie was great - mostly because of Kenneth Branagh's heady blend of theatricality and accessibility and the wonderful cast, so there was a pretty high benchmark.

The suggestion that Ragnarok is better than the first movie should be taken as a big win - particularly if it means we get more Thor movies in future.
