6. The Kirby References

Taika Waitit obviously wants to pay homage to Jack Kirby in Ragnarok: the artwork detail that emblazons the Sakaarian arena's doors are pure Kirby. Those concentric circles that almost look like alien language (and probably are being used that way here) are iconic details from his most complex works...

There's also a great shot when Thor says he recognises Hulk of the Grandmaster's box, where there's clearly a Kirby machine in the background...

It might look familiar as it's basically a colourised version of a panel from The Fantastic Four...

That's some next level obscurity.

The vibrant colours of the trailer are also incredibly reminiscent of the great man's work...
