Tom Holland Wants Doctor Strange And The Hulk In Next Spider-Man Movie
The Web Head does need a new father figure, after all.
Spider-Man: Far From Home is just around the corner, but that hasn't stopped Tom Holland from discussing what he wants to see happen to the web-slinger in his next solo outing, as well as other entries in the MCU. Now that Tony Stark is gone, Nick Fury is stepping into the mentor role for Sony's upcoming sequel, but Holland has a few other characters in mind who he wants to share the screen with going forward.
Talking to Fandom, the actor expressed his interest in having more screen time with Mark Ruffalo's Hulk in the future, because the two are both "science geeks". It is a pairing we've sadly seen little of in the MCU so far, and the two would compliment each other nicely in a future Avengers film, especially now that Banner has moved into becoming the leader of the team.
He's not the only hero Holland has mentioned, however, and in an interview with CinemaBlend discussed how Doctor Strange would make for an interesting partner. Unlike Banner, Spider-Man and Strange would work because of just how different they are, as the actor explained:
"I’m really wanting to do a team-up with Doctor Strange, because we’re both New Yorkers and I just really like the idea of a science guy being teamed up with a guy who does magic, because it totally contradicts everything he knows."
Being just downtown from The Sorcerer Supreme, you would think they'd cross paths now and again, so it's not like it would take all that much explaining to have the two meet again in a future movie.
Of course, there'll no doubt be fans who don't want other characters overshadowing Spidey (which Iron Man arguably did in Homecoming), but the joy of the MCU means that anything is possible, even if it's just a cameo.
