After the Maitlands die in a car accident and, upon returning as ghosts, find their home owned by new residents, they do they only sensible thing and call in zany €˜bio-exorcist€™ Betelgeuse. Unpredictable, unhinged and larger than life (or should that be death?), Betelgeuse is an extremely memorable creation and helped break Burton into the big time (soon after he was asked to direct the blockbuster Batman) thanks to a ridiculously over-the-top yet terribly enjoyable performance by Michael Keaton. Everyone now: Betelgeuse! Betelgeuse! Betelgeuse!
