This is fun. Last night Disney released what was perceived to be the trailer supplemented by very convincing poster marketing material for a schmaltzy rom-com coming out later this year from Jason Segel and Amy Adams titled Green With Envy before the rug is pulled - "What, there's Muppets in this movie"? - and very quickly you realise it's the trailer for the film within the film of this November's The Muppets. I showed the trailer to my girlfriend last night and she couldn't stop giggling. A big fan of The Muppets, she quickly told me she hadn't been looking forward to a movie with Kermit, Miss Piggy and the gang this much in years and I'd have to agree that the bright, wonderful, song and dance, high-camp trailer got me too.Jason Segel and his co-writer/director of Forgetting Sarah Marshall Nicholas Stoller have put together a nostalgic story about the band getting back together to save their failing studio from a greedy oil tycoon who wants to use the ground to drill. In a scene-chewing role Chris Cooper plays the oil tycoon, but the real heart of the film is with the new muppet Walter described as a sweet, slightly naive twenty-something Everypuppet who, in the movie, is the best friend and roommate of Segels character, Gary and who has a little bit of a self-confidence issue because hes the only person like him that hes seen aside from the Muppets. His dream is to meet the Muppets and be around people who are like him. Rashida Jones supports and there's cameo's from a wide selection of famous faces including; Emily Blunt, Katy Perry, Jack Black, Ricky Gervais, Alan Arkin, Whoopi Goldberg, Billy Crystal, Zach Galifianakis, Jean-Claude Van Damme and Dave Grohl. Directed by Flight of the Conchords' James Bobin, the film will feature songs exclusively written for the movie by that show's star Brett McKenzie. The film opens on November 23rd and here's the poster for that fake movie - Green With Envy;
