Trent Reznor To Score & Star in ABRAHAM LINCOLN: VAMPIRE HUNTER

Academy Award Winner, Trent Reznor€€€just doesn€™t sound right, does it? If your adolescence was in any way like mine- and by the way if so you have my sympathies- the Nine Inch Nails weaved dark, dystopian, industrial rock symphonies that evoked the howling windy caverns of the soul€™s most feared recesses. Their frontman and genius, the aforementioned Reznor, was a brooding angry dervish of angst, fury, and macabre lyricism. Yes, I€™m not ashamed to admit that I would have happily dragged myself over shattered crystal to have touched his velvet cape. So you may understand that the sight of Reznor with a sensible haircut in a conventional tuxedo delivering a mundane speech to the Academy and Hollywood elites was not a little galling. €œEveryone sells out,€ I was told, but what I didn€™t appreciate was that they really did mean EVERYONE. And so, fresh from his Oscar for The Social Network soundtrack, Reznor now appears to have a taste for the glamour of Hollywood and will- according to EW- be not only scoring the much anticipated adaptation of Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter, but will also play a part in the film as well. Reznor, it is speculated, will play a vampire that kills Lincoln's own mother and really begins the story! No official statements have been made regarding the NIN frontman€™s involvement as of yet but if it's true, the role will pretty much be Reznor's acting debut. Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter is written as a biography of Abraham Lincoln, based on €œsecret diaries€ kept by the 16th President and given to the author by a vampire named Henry Sturges. Benjamin Walker has the title role of Great Abe, Dominic Cooper is Henry Sturgess whilst there are supporting turns for Anthony Mackie (as Will, President's best friend) Mary Elizabeth Winstead (Lincoln's wife) and Jimmi Simpson. Abe Lincoln Vampire Hunter has been adapted for the screen by its original author Seth Grahame Smith and will be directed by Timur Bekmambetov (Nightwatch, Wanted) as well as being produced by-among others- Tim Burton. Reznor meanwhile has already signed on to compose the score for the American remake of David Fincher's Girl with the Dragon Tattoo that's out in December. Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter is not due till next June.
