Uh-Oh, Netflix Sign Adam Sandler Up To FOUR More Movies

Maybe 8th time will be the charm?

Apparently, it no longer matters how bad your movies are, if you're called Adam Sandler, you've got a distribution deal with Netflix for life.

According to THR, the actor who has so far disappointed basically every Netflix viewer with The Ridiculous 6 and The Do-Over has been rewarded with another deal with the streaming service guaranteeing another four movies on top of his current four picture deal.

The funny thing is, the two movies are counted amongst Netflix's most successful funded releases ever. Which is a sentence that's difficult to chew on, to say the least, given how savagely those films were critically mauled. Not that they didn't absolutely deserve it.

Sandler has already got comedy Sandy Wexler incoming and another unrevealed film to follow, and Netflix have obviously already seen enough to warrant an expansion of the deal. I suppose that's the benefit of not being at the mercy of box office figures for Sandler, whose best films - Punch Drunk Love, Reign Over Me and Funny People - all lost money.

What a world we live in.

Let's just hope that the safety of that deal means that Sandler will show some of the better form everyone knows he's capable of. Because there's only so many times we can all watch him mugging around being a man-child goofball with his buddies before everyone turns off for good.
